Every family has one. The voice at the head of the table — the one who lived the stories the rest of us only tell.

There is a moment, usually late, when a family realizes no one ever asked. How he built the business. What she was thinking on the boat. The year everything nearly came apart, and the reason it didn't.

Photographs survive. Names survive. What disappears first is the voice — the phrasing, the humor, the way they told it. The Heirloom Sessions exists so that a family never has to accept that loss quietly.

A film worthy of the life.

A crafted thirty-to-sixty minute documentary, built from their own restored photographs, archival imagery, and the music of their era — then premiered privately for the whole family. It is the evening people talk about for years afterward.

Not a transcript. A book.

Their interviews become a hand-finished memoir written in the first person — their voice, their phrasing, smoothed but never invented, and approved by them. Restored photographs throughout, and quiet codes at each chapter's end that play the film of them telling it.

Five years of private archive hosting is included with every collection — ten with The Living Legacy. Thereafter, $129 per year, or secured in perpetuity for a single contribution of $1,200. Additional memoir books, $175 each.

Questions Families Ask

Before you begin.

How long does the whole process take?

From our first conversation to delivery, most families are complete in eight to twelve weeks. The filmed sessions themselves happen over a week or two, at whatever pace is comfortable — we never rush an eighty-five-year-old through their own life.

What if my parent is private, or says they have nothing interesting to say?

Almost everyone says this. It is the single most common thing we hear, and it is almost never true. Our interviewers are trained to start where it is easy and let the important things arrive on their own. Most subjects who dreaded the first session ask when we are coming back.

Do we have to travel to you?

No. We come to them. Every session is filmed in their own home, at their own kitchen table or in their own chair, because people tell the truth in the rooms they know. We serve Naples and Southwest Florida, and we travel for families further afield.

What exactly is The Living Voice?

It is a private conversational archive built from your loved one's own recorded interviews, in their real voice. Your family can ask it a question and hear them answer in their own words. It is created while they are living and with their blessing — never generated after the fact, and never saying anything they did not say.

Who owns the films and the recordings?

Your family does, completely. Everything is delivered in full on archival media that is yours to keep forever, regardless of whether you ever continue any hosting service with us.

What if there is limited time — illness, or declining memory?

Tell us immediately and we will move. We keep room in the schedule for families facing a closing window, and we can begin filming within days. The films and the books can be made at any time. The voice cannot.

Is this appropriate if the person is already in decline?

Often, yes. Long-term memory frequently outlasts short-term memory, and a story from 1958 may come back perfectly even on a difficult day. We will have an honest conversation with you about what is realistic before you commit to anything.

How do we get started?

One conversation, at no cost and with no obligation. We will talk about the person whose story you want to keep, answer whatever you would like to ask, and only then discuss whether one of the collections is right for your family.

Nearly every family we meet tells us the same thing: they wish they had called a year earlier. The films and the books can be made at any time. The voice cannot.

We take on a limited number of families each season so that every project receives the attention it deserves.
